Jeonghyun (Janice) Lee, a PhD candidate in the Department of Advertising & Public Relations at the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on leadership in communication, corporate communication, organizational crisis communication as well as the affordances of new technologies for strategic communication practices, such as AI, IoT, and big data. She received Ragan Research Award in 2022 with a research topic of ESG and employee engagement using a network analysis.
Jongmin Lee is a third-year doctoral student at Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. His research interests lie in the adoption of innovative media technologies through the lens of social science. He loves to explore how artificial intelligence impacts on the brand-consumer relationships and advertising and how it is applied in the context of chatbot, social media, metaverse, etc. In one of the research streams in AI, he is trying to use the computational method as a tool not only to collect and analyze massive datasets but ultimately to design and create various experimental stimuli.
Jaemin Kim is a second-year Ph.D. student concentrating on an Advertising major at Grady College who thinks differently and is pursuing to be a productive idiot as a scholar. His major research interests are in the way advanced technologies (e.g., blockchain, NFT, metaverse, etc.), changed the advertising environment and advertising effects. In terms of methodology, by using R and Python, Jaemin keeps trying to apply machine learning methods (e.g., cross-validation, text mining, neural network, bagging and boosting, etc.) to his studies.
Jakyung Seo is a doctoral student at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. My research interests lie in understanding the effects of advertising formats and designing persuasive advertising messages. Other research interests include health and sustainability issues in advertising, influencer marketing, and brand authenticity. Social network analysis and sentiment analysis will be great tools to explore dynamics in the media ecology.
Jongwha Kim is in my first year of master’s degree in advertising. His research interests are media technology, metaverse advertising, and media psychology. Also, He is interested in computational methods, including various analysis methodologies through R and Python.
Sooyoung Ryu is a first-year graduate student of master’s program at the University of Georgia. She is concentrating on Advertising in Grady College. Her research interest is placed in the intersection of computational social science and visual advertising. (Expected graduation: August 2024)
Sihao Zhou is a graduate student of the master’s program in PR concentration at Grady college. Due to the rapidly evolving media landscape, he would love to explore more on how media outlets frame crises to disasters, especially public health emergencies. PR researchers have an increasing need for evidence-based studies for crisis and risk information dissemination to ensure truthfulness and comprehensiveness of the public. His research interests involve social network analytics by implementing statistical models created by Python or RStudio. (Expected graduation: May 2023)
